Oliva G Maduro – Perfecto

The Oliva G maduro. This is the cigar I found at the bottom of one of my humidors as I was rotating my stash. I remember buying this one awhile ago and thought now would be a good time to smoke this cigar. I made my way outside with cigar in hand to settle into my usual smoking spot. There was finally some sun and blue skies that day albeit the wind that was blowing and  gave me some concern as to how it would affect my cigar.

Oliva Serie V – Lancero

Size: 7 x 38
Strength: Medium – Full
Wrapper: Habano Sun Grown
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler:  Jalapa Valley Ligero

One of the first ways I can describe this stick is tempting. Every time I took it out to look at it and smelled it’s aroma, it was so damn tempting to just smoke it right then and there but I told myself to let it sit for awhile longer and imagine how much better it will be. So now this brings us to the evening where I finally decided to enjoy this fine Nicaraguan puro. When I took it out of it’s cello wrapper I noticed that the cello had started to turn yellow. That is a good sign of aging because the cigar’s oils are what causes this discoloration. The aroma of the cigar had subtly changed over the months but now it was earthy and what I can only describe as being intriguing. The wrapper was beautiful. Vein free and somewhat silky.
